The world-renowned Madonna Inn, a landmark on California's Central Coast for nearly fifty years, offers 109 rooms, each uniquely decorated with a special theme and color scheme - and "unique" doesn't quite capture the true essence of the themes and schemes involved. Located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the hotel is close to many places worth visiting in San Luis Obispo County, such as Hearst Castle, the crown jewel of San Simeon Park. Other choices include Digger Pine Trail, in the hills near Santa Margarita Lake, California Polytechnic State University and Bishop's Peak, the tallest of the volcanic peaks that march from San Luis Obispo to the ocean at Morro Rock.
Guests can enjoy a Rib Eye Steak Sandwich in the Copper Café & Pastry Shop or a Broiled Swordfish Steak at Alex Madonna's Gold Rush Steak House, or dance the night away in the Silver Bar Cocktail Lounge. Visitors looking for a souvenir can shop in one of the hotel's three specialty stores: Classic Gourmet and Wine Shop, "My Favorite Things" Boutique and The Brass Tower Men's Clothing Store.
