The Knickerbocker Mansion Country Inn is nestled on two-plus acres just three blocks from the village of Big Bear and four blocks from Big Bear Lake. The historic, rustic log, main lodge was built in 1920 by William Knickerbocker, the first Big Bear Lake Damkeeper, as a private home for his family. The interior of the Knickerbocker Mansion is warm, cozy and historic. While the feeling is much more elegant than when the Knickerbocker family lived in the house, it still has the original rustic charm and ambiance. A two-course gourmet breakfast is selected and prepared each day by Chef Thomas. Bistro at the Mansion is open for Saturday night dining, offering a menu to please the most discerning tastes. Amenities and services offered include concierge, business services, a library, sitting room, daily newspaper, game room, outdoor hot tub, meeting facilities, outdoor back patio, verandah, complimentary afternoon tea, movie library, and free parking. Turn left onto East Rialto Avenue. Turn right onto Del Rosa Drive. Turn right onto East Third Street. Turn left onto Victoria Avenue. Turn right onto 5th Street. Merge onto CA-30 West via the ramp on the left, toward San Bernardino. Merge onto CA-330 North toward Mountain Resorts and continue for 15 miles. CA-330 North becomes CA-18/Rim of the World Highway and continue for 12 miles. Turn right onto CA-18/Big Bear Boulevard. Continue to follow Big Bear Boulevard for four miles. Stay straight to go onto Village Drive. Turn right onto Knickerbocker Road and continue for 3/10 mile to the property.
